Student’S Faucet Design Saves Water By Swirling It Into Beautiful Patterns

Student’S Faucet Design Saves Water By Swirling It Into Beautiful Patterns

Simin Qiu, a design student in London’s Royal College of Art, has come up with a luxurious-looking Swirl Faucet that will save water by turning it into a beautiful, elegant, swirling spiral.
Qiu’s design works by sending the water through a double turbine, which spirals as water moves through it, creating an elaborate and beautiful lattice of water streams. The turbine also limits the flow of water by 15%, meaning that you waste less when using it! 3 different nozzles let users choose which water-saving design they’d rather use.
The design, which also won an iF Design concept award in 2014, is operated with a touch button on top, which helps it retain its sleek and elegant look.

New iPad App Xavion Can Help In Landing An Airplane Like A Professional Pilot

New iPad App Xavion Can Help In Landing An Airplane Like A Professional Pilot

We all know that pilots are experienced personnel who have massive experience and training under their belt. However, with the advancement in technology and new breakthroughs being achieved nowadays, pilots do rely on autopilot systems to help them in flying. These systems are expensive and require FAA approval before they can be used. An app by the name of Xavion is being developed that will prove to be a cheap and convenient alternative and shall be able to run on iPhone and iPad. XAVION App – Autopilot App for Aircrafts 4
Paired to the TruTrak Autopilot system via Wi-Fi, this new app shall take over the plane’s control and will aim for the safest landing spot that is possible to execute. The user interface is quite simple and according to the creator behind the app, it also circumvents the FAA certification requirement thus making it quite economical.XAVION App – Autopilot App for Aircrafts 2 XAVION App – Autopilot App for Aircrafts XAVION App – Autopilot App for Aircrafts 5
The app has a very simple user interface complete with features that equip the users with as much information as possible minus the complexity part. However, It is currently decades away from receiving approval from FAA. The creators also said that pilots are to use the app on their own discretion.

But , what if an app can help you to land an airplane ? This may sound interesting and yes , it’s true .
The new iPad app named Xavion would help you land your plane in case the aircraft engine fails. It will connects with a small plane’s autopilot via wi-fi that would guide you to the nearest airport or safe landing area.
The Xavion App extracts data from the autopilot to provide additional aid to the pilot.
According to the verge:
The app has long been a useful tool for pilots, tracking flight-path information and weather warnings but this autopilot update takes Xavion into unprecedented territory,
The app is created by Austin Meyer . He believes that pilots will use this app to guide them down to just before the threshold of the runway. At that point, any pilot can take over and land the airplane.
Meyer tested Xavion on the popular flight simulator ‘X-Plane‘ which is also made by him.
“Our tests took us practically all the way down to touchdown. If the pilot didn’t take over, he would have just had a hard landing, broken the landing gear, and everyone would have walked away,”
Austin Meyer told popular science .
This Xavion app can also provide weight and balance checks, and also estimate fuel burn and time to your destination at various altitudes.  A new update will let App take control of the autopilot making any human intervention unnecessary.
The app is available now on the Apple App store. Priced at $199.
