But wait, the Beast doesn't stop there! Not only can it go on paved roads, dirt roads and off road, it also charges while you are riding, working or resting!

 The solar battery pack charges at approximately 1 km/hr or 0.6 miles/hr in any type of daylight. Cloudy or sunny the battery is charging! 90% of ebike riders  do approximately 10 km/6 miles or less per day. This means most riders will have no need for a charger (don't worry a charger is included if you need to charge faster).
The Beast's removable battery pack can act as an emergency power generator and features two usb ports where you can plug any small device from your smart phone to a notebook and with 110V/220V plug available on the Ultimate version you can even plug in a TV. What more could you ask for?

KICKSTART YOUR BEAST

Daymak is based in Toronto, Canada. We have been in the business of ebikes since 2001. We have always dreamed of designing our own ebikes, so here we are developing the Beast!
Over the last two years, we have designed and built an all terrain ebike which challenges all regulars myths about ebikes. We are now ready to share the final design result with the world. We are offering the Beast to the early adaptive kickstarter community to find out who is interested in riding a Beast and to see where it will go next!

We're a small company with 10 years+ experience in selling electric bicycles and electric scooters. We believe this is a big idea and are interested in finding supporters to raise the amount of capital needed to establish the Beast as a product in a global market. The additional supplementary financing we are seeking will finally allow us to concentrate on all the details that still need to be worked on like the modification of the frame or the improvement of the driving dynamics. Furthermore, we have to fulfill our engineering obsession of perfecting the Beast in every detail. It will take our team a lot of work, power and money to be able to start with the serial production to share the Beast with the rest of the world.

As we prepare for the production of our first run  we are excited for all the potential backers' support and commitment. If we reach our goal we will be able to add additional features such us upgraded components. The KMC chain, Shimano Disc Brakes, Samsung batteries and most of all, the leading edge Smart phone app for iPhone and Android that will bring the Beast to the next level! The wireless app will talk directly to the motor and batteries and will allow your phone to display all information such as your speed, distance traveled, GPS, battery level and can act as your key.

Reports have just come in that a Malaysian Airlines plane carrying 295 passengers has been shot down by a missile over the border of Russia and Ukraine.
Russian news agency Interfax cites Ukraine’s Interior Ministry advisor as saying all aboard the plane have died.

The plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and carrying 295 passengers when it was shot down flying at 32,000 Feet. According to reuters, the plane didn’t enter Russian airspace as scheduled and was shot down by a missile. Plane was expected to enter Russian airspace at 5:20pm local time, but never did.

Malaysian Airlines authorities have confirmed that they have lost contact with the plane but haven’t yet confirmed if it has been shot down or crashed. A source has told Reuters that a Malaysia Airlines plane has been found burning in Eastern Ukraine. This is one of the saddest incidents in the aviation history.
It is being speculated that the plane was shot down by a BUK surface to air missile. According to sources,  the tail number of the crashed Malaysian plane is reported to be 9M-MRD. It was operating as flight 17 these days. The Boeing 777-200ER was delivered to Malaysia Airlines in 1997 and was in perfect working order.

Forward-thinking engineers in China are the first in the country to have built a section of an enormous overpass and rotate it into place upon completion so as not to disturb the railways below.

It was the first time the technique had been used in China, with engineers unable to temporarily halt the busy train service in order to build the bridge in place

Experts took 90 minutes to connect the section to the rest of the bridge, tuning it 106 degrees on a 15metre high axis.

The track beneath the bridge in Wuhan City was considered too important to be temporarily halted in order for engineers' to complete construction.
 

Once finished, the overpass will be 256m long and span 11 railways, including the 1,428 mile-long Beijing-Guangzhou service.
Experts estimate the bridge will be open to traffic later this month.

A similar technique was used to construct the Grade I listed Kingsgate Bridge across the River Wear in Durham in 1968.
Designed in 1963 by Sir Ove Arup, the bridge's two halves were built on the river's bank and swung together at 90 degrees.

We recently reported on a simple yet genius idea to turn plastic bottles into strong plastic wire and here is yet another way to reuse those empty bottles. Chief creative officer of 3Dsystems and entertainer Will.I.Am has just collaborated with Coca-Cola to create the Ekocycle – a cube shaped 3D printer that uses filament made from recycled 20 oz PET plastic bottles.

The device aims to promote sustainability and eco friendliness by using at least three recycled post consumer plastic bottles as part of the filament in each cartridge. Users can then design and print anything that comes to mind such as bracelets, phone cases and models of their favourite characters.
Will.I.Am explained his goal to, “partner with the most influential brands around the world and use technology, art, style and inspiration to change an entire culture. We will make it cool to recycle, and we will make it cool to make products using recycled materials. This is the beginning of a more sustainable 3D-printed lifestyle. Waste is only waste if we waste it.

The filament comes in three different colours, red, black and white as well as a ‘natural’ colour, although we’re not quite sure what colour that is yet. The resulted material will be flexible and durable and the use of recycled material still promises similar material properties to that of current 3D printer filaments.

The EKOCYCLE Cube features a color touchscreen with an intuitive user interface and sleek LEDs highlighting prints in action. It is also equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to send your designs for printing from any WiFi or Bluetooth device.

The Ekocycle printer will arrive on the market for $1,200 but no release on cartridge price yet. They are expected to launch in the second half of 2014.
